Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 28:642

Muhammad ibn Fudayl and Waki’ narrated to us, from Hajjaj, from Abu Salih, from Ibn Abbas, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), when he distributed [the spoils], gave the horse two shares and the man one share. Thus, the man and his horse had three shares.
