Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 28:674

'Abdullah ibn Idris narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Yazid ibn Yazid ibn Jabir, from Makhul, who said: "A share is not given for more than two horses if they belong to one man. Whatever is beyond that, it is considered spare horses (janā'ib)."
