Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 28:703

Waki' narrated to us, he said: Salamah ibn Nabit narrated to us, from al-Dahhak, he said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) sent out scouting parties, and the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) obtained spoils of war, so he divided them among the people and did not divide anything for the scouting parties. When the scouting parties arrived, they said: "The spoils have been divided, and he did not divide anything for us." Then [the verse] was revealed: "It is not for a prophet to defraud."
