Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu al-Juwayriyah and ‘Asim ibn Kulayb al-Jarmi, that ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ransomed a man from the Muslims who was held captive by the people of war for one hundred thousand.
