Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 28:862

'Abd al-Rahim ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Sa'id ibn Abi Hind, from Abu Murrah, the freed slave of 'Aqil ibn Abi Talib, from Umm Hani bint Abi Talib, who said: When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) conquered Makkah, two men from my in-laws fled to me, so I granted them protection—or a word similar to that. My brother, 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, entered upon me and said, "I will surely kill them." She said: So I locked the door upon them, then I came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) at the upper part of Makkah. He said, "Welcome, O Umm Hani, what has brought you?" I said: O Prophet of Allah, two men from my in-laws fled to me, and my brother 'Ali ibn Abi Talib entered upon me and claimed that he would kill them. He said, "No, we have granted protection to whom you have granted protection, and we have granted security to whom you have granted security."
