Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 28:923

Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, from Qays ibn Muslim, from al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Hanafiyyah, he said: The people differed after the death of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, regarding these two shares: the share of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and the share of the near relatives. A group said: "The share of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, is for the Caliph after him." And a group said: "The share of the near relatives is for the relatives of the Caliph." Then they reached a consensus to place these two shares into the cavalry and the equipment in the way of Allah.
