Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 28:999

Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban, from Abu 'Amrah, that he heard Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhani narrating that a man from the Muslims died at Khaybar. He mentioned his affair to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and he said: "Pray over your companion." The faces of the people changed because of that. When he saw that, he said: "He misappropriated [spoils] in the way of Allah." So we searched his belongings and found beads from the beads of the Jews that were not worth two dirhams.
