Hadith 7:12
Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Bayan, from Qays, who said: Abu Bakr entered upon a woman from the Ahmas tribe (who was silent during her Hajj), and she began to gesture to him and would not speak to him. He said, "What is the matter with her? Why does she not speak?" They said, "She has vowed to perform Hajj in silence." He said, "Speak, for this is not permissible for you. This is only from the deeds of the Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic era)."
حدثنا محمد بن فضيل عن بيان عن قيس قال دخل أبو بكر على امرأة من أحمس ( مصمتة ) في حجتها ) فجعلت تشير إليه ولا تكلمه فقال ما لها لا تتكلم فقالوا إنها نذرت أن تحج مصمتة فقال تكلمي فإن هذا لا يحل لك إنما هذا من عمل الجاهلية
