Asbat ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from Mughira, from Ibrahim and al-Sha'bi, they both said: "The *umm al-walad* (a slave woman who has borne a child to her master) does not suffice for the [expiation of] a neck (i.e., freeing a slave)."
