Muhammad ibn Abd Allah al-Asadi narrated to us, from Hammad ibn Salamah, from Bard Abu al-Ala, from Makhul, regarding a group of people who kill a man: He said: "Upon every man among them is an expiation, and upon all of them collectively is the blood money (diyah)."
