Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 7:33

Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from al-Hakam, from Ibn Mughaffal, from Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, who said: Whoever makes a vow upon himself to Allah without specifying it, then upon him is [the freeing of] a soul.
