Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 7:37

Jābir ibn Zayd said: If a person says, "Upon me is a vow," then if he specified [something], it is what he specified. And if he intended [something], then upon him is what he intended. If he did not specify anything, he shall fast a day or pray two rak'ahs.
