Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 7:44

Hushaym narrated to us, from Yunus, from al-Hasan, regarding a man who vowed to fast on Mondays and Thursdays. Then a day of Fitr or Adha came upon that [vow]. He said: He breaks the fast and fasts a day in its place, and he makes expiation for his oath.
