Muhammad ibn Yazid narrated to us, from Ayyub Abu al-Ala, from Qatada, who said: A woman came to Shurayh and said, "I vowed to perform i'tikaf in the mosque, but the ruler is preventing me." He said, "Then offer an expiation for your oath."
