Hadith 30:55
Ali ibn Mushir narrated to us, from al-Ajlah, from Abdullah ibn Abi al-Hudhayl, that Musa—or another of the prophets—said: "O Lord, how can this be from You? Your allies on earth are hungry, they are killed, and they ask, yet they are not given; while Your enemies eat whatever they wish and drink whatever they wish," and [he said] something similar to this. He said: "Take My servant to Paradise, so he may look at what he has never seen the like of: at cups placed, cushions lined up, carpets spread out, at the wide-eyed houris, at the fruits, and at the servants as if they were hidden pearls." Then He said: "What harm did it do to My allies, what befell them in the world, when their destination is this?" Then He said: "Take this servant of Mine." So he was taken to the Fire, and a neck [of fire] emerged from it, and the servant fell unconscious. Then he recovered, and He said: "What benefit did it do to My enemies, what I gave them in the world, when their destination is this?" He said: "Nothing."
حدثنا علي بن مسهر عن الأجلح عن عبد الله بن أبي الهذيل أن موسى أو غيره من الأنبياء قال يا رب كيف يكون هذا منك أولياؤك في الأرض جائعون يقتلون ويطلبون فلا يعطون وأعداؤك يأكلون ما شاؤا ويشربون ما شاؤا ونحو هذا فقال انطلقوا بعبدي إلى الجنة فينظر ما لم ير مثله قط إلى أكواب موضوعة ونمارق مصفوفة وزرابي مبثوثة وإلى الحور العين وإلى الثمار وإلى الخدم كأنهم لؤلؤ مكنون فقال ما ضر أوليائي ما أصابهم في الدنيا إذا كان مصيرهم إلى هذا ثم قال انطلقوا بعبدي هذا فانطلق به إلى النار فيخرج منها عنق فصعق العبد ثم أفاق فقال ما نفع أعدائي ما أعطيتهم في الدنيا إذا كان مصيرهم إلى هذا قال لا شيء
