Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:1690

Abu Usama narrated to us, from Za'ida, from 'Imran ibn Muslim, from Suwayd ibn Ghafala, who said: "When a man is sitting in the mosque waiting for the prayer, he is in a state of i'tikaf (seclusion)."
