Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:1695

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from ‘Asim, from Abu ‘Uthman, he said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was delayed from his companions for the Isha prayer until one-third of the night remained. He came to them while some of them were standing, some were sitting, and some were lying down. He said: "You have been in a state of prayer since you waited for it, those of you standing, those of you sitting, and those of you lying down."
