Hadith 3:2141
Waki’ narrated to us, from Isma’il, from Ibn al-Asbahani, from ‘Ikrimah, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed ‘Asr as two rak’ahs, then he performed the taslim and entered [his house]. A man from his companions, who was called Dhu al-Shamalin, entered upon him and said, "O Messenger of Allah, has the prayer been shortened?" He said, "What is it?" He said, "You prayed two rak’ahs." He went out and said, "What is Dhu al-Yadayn saying?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, yes." So he prayed two rak’ahs with them and performed two prostrations.
