Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:2281

Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Muharib, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, that Mu'adh prayed with his companions and recited [Surah] al-Baqarah. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to him, "Are you a tempter? Are you a tempter?"
