Hadith 3:2375

Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us, from Sa’d ibn Ishaq, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn ‘Abd al-Malik ibn Ka’b, from his father, who said: I slept past the dawn prayer until the horn of the sun rose, while we were harvesting in a property of ours. I inclined toward a watering place of the palm trees to perform ablution. My father saw me and said, "What is the matter with you?" I said, "I am praying; I have already performed ablution." He called me and made me sit by his side. When the sun had risen high and become bright, and I came to the mosque, he struck me before I stood up for the prayer. He said, "You forget? Pray now."
