Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:2395

Muhammad ibn Abd Allah al-Asadi narrated to us, from Isra’il, from Jabir, who said: I asked Abu Ja’far, Salim, al-Qasim, and ‘Ata’ about a man who entered into the Asr prayer with a group of people while he thought it was the Dhuhr prayer. They said: He should depart [from the prayer], then pray the Dhuhr, and the Asr [prayer he performed with the group] shall suffice for him. He said: And I asked ‘Amir and Muslim ibn Subayh, and they both said: He should depart, then pray the Dhuhr, then pray the Asr, for Allah has indeed recorded it [the Dhuhr] with Him before the Asr, and the Dhuhr shall not be [counted] for him. And Jabir narrated from Hammad, from Ibrahim, the like of that.
