Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:2598

Abbad ibn al-Awwam narrated to us, from Hajjaj, from Fudayl, from Ibrahim, that he said regarding the scorpion: If a man sees it while in prayer, he said: "Ward it off from yourself." I said: "And if it refuses?" He said: "Kill it, and wash the place where you killed it."
