Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:2619

Ubayd Allah narrated to us, from Shayban, from Yahya, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, that Umar ibn al-Khattab was delivering the sermon on Friday when a man arrived. Umar said to him, "Why are you detained from the prayer?" The man said, "It was only that I heard the call, so I performed ablution (wudu)." Umar said, "And ablution also? Have you not heard that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say: 'When one of you goes to Friday [prayer], let him perform ghusl (full ritual bath)'?"
