Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:2629

Hushaym narrated to us, from Yahya, from Sa’id, from ‘Amirah bint ‘Abd al-Rahman, from ‘A’ishah, who said: The people used to serve themselves, and one of them would go to the Friday prayer in his [usual] state. So it was said to them, "If only you would perform ghusl."
