Isma'il ibn 'Ayyash narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Muhajir, from 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz, that he forbade the scrolls (suhuf) from being read on the day of Friday until the sermon (khutbah) was finished.
