Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:2913

Waki’ narrated to us, from al-Rabi’ (Ibrahim), from al-Hasan, who said: He used to dislike speaking while the scrolls (suhuf) were being read. And al-Hasan said: The scrolls used to be read before the prayer.
