Ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from Khalid ibn 'Isa, who said: I saw 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz speaking to al-Walid ibn Hisham, while Sulayman, the Commander of the Faithful, was upon the pulpit, and scrolls were being read on the day of Friday.
