Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:3079

Jarir narrated to us, from Mansur, from Ibrahim, from al-Hakam, from some of the people of Medina—I see Abu Ja’far among them—who said: He used to recite in the Friday prayer Surah al-Jumu’ah and [Surah] al-Munafiqun. As for Surah al-Jumu’ah, he would give glad tidings to the believers through it and encourage them. And as for Surah al-Munafiqun, he would cause the hypocrites to despair through it and rebuke them with it.
