Hadith 3:3108
Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from Siwar, from ‘Abd al-Wahid ibn Sabrah, that Salim narrated to al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, saying: When the governor came to us, the time for Jumu’ah arrived, so he led us in the Jumu’ah prayer. He continued to deliver the sermon and read letters until the time for Jumu’ah had passed, and he did not descend to pray. Al-Qasim said to him, "Why did you not stand and pray?" He said, "No, by Allah, I feared it would be said [that I am] a man from the family of ‘Umar." He said, "Did you not pray while sitting?" He said, "No." He said, "Did you not gesture [to pray]?" He said, "No." He said: Then he continued to deliver the sermon and read until the time for ‘Asr had passed. Al-Qasim said to him, "Why did you not stand and pray?" He said, "No." He said, "Did you not pray while sitting?" He said, "No." He said, "Did you not gesture [to pray]?" He said, "No."
