Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:3140

Abdurrahman ibn Muhammad al-Muharibi narrated to us, from Layth, from Uthman, from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Gabriel came to me, and in his hand was something like a white mirror, in which there was something like a black dot. I said: 'O Gabriel, what is this?' He said: 'Friday.' I said: 'And what is Friday?' He said: 'There is good for you in it.' I said: 'And what is for us in it?' He said: 'It shall be a festival for you and for your people after you, and the Jews and the Christians shall be followers of you.' I said: 'And what is for us in it?' He said: 'You have in it an hour; no Muslim servant encounters it while asking Allah for anything of the world and the Hereafter that is decreed for him, except that He gives it to him; or if it is not decreed, He stores for him with Him what is better than it; or he seeks refuge in it from an evil that is written for him, except that He averts from him a calamity greater than it.' I said to him: 'And what is this dot in it?' He said: 'It is the hour; it occurs on Friday, and it is with us the master of days, and we call it the Day of Resurrection and the Day of Increase.' I said: 'Why is that?' He said: 'Because your Lord, Blessed and Exalted is He, has taken a valley of white musk in Paradise. When Friday comes, He descends from the highest heights (Illiyyun) onto His Throne, Blessed and Exalted is He. Then the Throne is surrounded by pulpits of gold, adorned with jewels. Then the Prophets come until they sit upon them, and the people of the chambers (Ghuraf) descend until they sit upon that sand dune. Then your Lord, Blessed and Exalted is He, manifests Himself to them and says: "Ask Me, and I shall give you." He said: So they ask Him for His pleasure. He says: "My pleasure settled you in My abode and granted you My favor, so ask Me, and I shall give you." He said: So they ask Him. He said: So He calls them to witness that He is pleased with them. He said: Then He opens for them what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and has not crossed the heart of any human. He said: That is the duration of your departure from Friday. Then he said: He rises, and the Prophets, the truthful ones, and the martyrs rise with Him. The people of the chambers return to their chambers, which are of white pearl—having no crack or fissure—or red pearl, or green chrysolite. In them are their chambers, their doors are embroidered, and in them are their rivers and their fruits hanging low. He said: They are not in need of anything more than they are in need of Friday, so that they may increase in looking at their Lord and increase in honor from Him.'"
