Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah, from Kathir, the freed slave of Ibn Samurah, who said: I passed by Abd al-Rahman ibn Samurah while he was sitting at his door. He said, "What is the matter with your leader?" I said, "Did you not attend the Jumu'ah (Friday prayer)?" He said, "This mud (crops) prevented us from it."
