Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:3310

Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Qays ibn Muslim, from Tariq ibn Shihab, who said: The first person to begin with the sermon on the day of Eid before the prayer was Marwan. A man stood up to him and said, "The prayer is before the sermon." He (Marwan) replied, "That which was here has been abandoned." Abu Sa’id said, "As for this one, he has fulfilled what was upon him."
