Ja'far ibn 'Awn narrated to us, from al-Afriqi, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Rafi', that 'Umar ibn al-Khattab used to say the takbir in the two 'Ids twelve times: seven in the first [rak'ah] and five in the last.
