Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:3401

Humaid ibn Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Hasan, from Ibn Abi Layla, from Abd al-Karim, from Mujahid, who said: They used to consider it recommended to perform ghusl (ritual bathing) on the day of al-Adha and the day of al-Fitr.
