Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Abu 'Ubayd, the freed slave of Ibn Azhar, who said: I witnessed the 'Eid with 'Uthman, and it coincided with a Friday. He said: "Indeed, this is a day in which two 'Eids have gathered for the Muslims. So whoever is here from the people of al-'Awali, we have given him permission to depart, and whoever wishes to remain, let him remain."
