Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Sahl ibn Yusuf narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Awn, who said: I wrote to Nafi‘ asking him about people who are in the countryside (al-rustaq) when the day of ‘Eid arrives. He said: They gather, and a man leads them in prayer. And regarding Jumu‘ah, he wrote back to me: As for ‘Eid, a man leads them in prayer; but as for Jumu‘ah, I have no knowledge regarding it.
