Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Dawud ibn Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, he said: ‘Amr ibn Yahya al-Mazini narrated to me that a man was punished with a hadd (prescribed) punishment in a village, and he used to lead his companions in prayer. They asked ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz, and he said: "How did you find him?" They said: "What happened, happened," and they praised him for his goodness. So he ordered him to lead them in prayer.
