Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:3996

Abd al-A’la narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from ‘Asim ibn ‘Umar ibn Qatadah, from Mahmud ibn Labid, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) came to the mosque of Banu ‘Abd al-Ashhal and prayed Maghrib with them. When he had finished the salutation, he said: "Perform these two rak'ahs in your houses." He (the narrator) said: I saw Mahmud ibn Labid—and he was the imam of his people—praying Maghrib with them, then he would go out and sit in the courtyard of the mosque until he stood up before the ‘Atamah (Isha), then he would enter his house and pray them.
