Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:459

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Azhar al-Samman narrated to us, from Ibn 'Awn, from Muhammad, regarding the sick person: "If he is not able to prostrate, he should gesture with his head to wherever he can reach."
