Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Muhammad bin Qays narrated to us, from al-Sha’bi, who said: Abdullah said: "If the people traveled through a valley and a mountain pass, and Umar traveled through a valley and a mountain pass, I would travel through the valley and mountain pass of Umar. And if Umar were to be devoutly obedient (qanit), Abdullah would be devoutly obedient."
