Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:4711

Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from Mis'ar, from al-'Abbas ibn Dharih, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding a man who entered a mosque while its people had already prayed: "Should he perform voluntary prayer?" He said: "He is like a man who performs voluntary prayer before he performs Hajj."
