Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:4936

Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi narrated to us, from Hisham, from Qatadah, regarding a man who covers his nose during prayer. He said: Ikrimah narrated to me that Ibn Abbas used to dislike [covering] the nose. Qatadah said: Sa’id ibn al-Musayyib, al-Nakha’i, and ‘Ata’ used to dislike it, while al-Hasan saw no harm in it. Qatadah said: As for the mouth, I see no harm in it.
