Abu Usama narrated to us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid ibn Jabir, who said: I heard Abd al-Hamid ibn Abd al-Rahman, the governor of Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, and a man passed in front of him while he was praying, so he pulled him until he almost tore his clothes. When he finished, he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "If the one passing in front of the person praying knew [the sin], he would prefer that his thigh be broken rather than pass in front of him."
