Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Isa ibn Yunus narrated to us, from al-Awza’i, who said: The people used to recite consecutively in Ramadan, each reciter following the one before him, until Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz took charge. He then said: "Let every reciter recite from wherever he likes."
