Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:5400

Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Al-A’mash narrated to us, from Abu al-Duha, from Masruq, who said: We used to recite in the mosque, and the people would persist in the recitation after Ibn Mas’ud stood up. Then we would stand and pray the Duha (forenoon) prayer. That reached Ibn Mas’ud, so he said: "O servants of Allah, do not burden the servants of Allah with what Allah has not burdened them. If you must do it, then [do it] in your houses."
