Hadith 3:5663

Mu'tamir ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from al-Hakam ibn Aban, from Ikrimah, who said: I was in a company, and Ikrimah and his companions did not have water, so they performed tayammum and prayed. Then they came upon water. Ikrimah said to them: "Do you see the sun on the top of the mountain?" They said: "No." He said: "If you had seen it, we would not have repeated [the prayer], since the tayammum sufficed us." He said: So I departed until I entered al-Jund, and I met Amr ibn Muslim, the companion of Tawus, and I told him what Ikrimah had said. He went to Tawus and mentioned that to him, then he returned to me and said: "I mentioned to Tawus what Ikrimah said, and he said: 'He spoke the truth.'"
