Hadith 3:5945

Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Ishaq bin Uthman al-Kilabi narrated to us, from Abu Ayyub al-Hajari, he said: The sun eclipsed in Basra, and Ibn Abbas was the governor over it. So he stood to pray with the people, and he recited, and he prolonged the recitation. Then he bowed, and he prolonged the bowing. Then he raised his head, then he prostrated. He did the same as that in the second [rak'ah]. When he finished, he said: "This is the prayer of the signs." He said: So I said: "With what did you recite in them?" He said: "With [Surah] al-Baqarah and [Surah] Ali 'Imran."
