Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:5947

Mus’ab ibn al-Miqdam narrated to us, he said: Za’idah informed us, he said: Ziyad ibn ‘Alaqah said: I heard al-Mughirah ibn Shu’bah saying: The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) on the day Ibrahim died. The people said: "It eclipsed due to the death of Ibrahim." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Indeed, the sun and the moon are two signs from among the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse for the death of anyone nor for his life. So when you see them, call upon Allah and pray until it clears."
