Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:5962

Ma'n ibn 'Isa narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Hilal, that he witnessed 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz during the prayer for rain (istisqa'). He began with the prayer before the sermon. He said: And I saw him perform the prayer for rain, and he turned his cloak.
