Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:6212

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn ‘Amr, from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn ‘Uthman, who said: I stood behind the Maqam (Station of Ibrahim) praying, and I intended that no one would overcome me for it that night. Suddenly, a man from behind me nudged me. I did not turn toward him. Then he nudged me again, so I turned, and it was ‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan. I stepped aside, and he stepped forward and recited the entire Qur’an in one rak’ah, then he departed.
